Peter Cooper, Broadcom Commercial & Enterprise Markets and Managed Partners Europe Leader
This is the blog of Peter Cooper, Broadcom Commercial & Enterprise Markets and Managed Partners Europe leader from February 2021 to April 2025. This blog will explore topics including Mr Cooper’s work history, AI and cybersecurity trends for 2025 and 2026, using AI safely and the cybersecurity threats that impact children in the UK.
Cybersecurity Sector
Mr Cooper has more than 25 years of experience in the cybersecurity sector, working at a senior level in several major companies operating in this field. He is currently channel lead for Island – The Enterprise Browser, where his role centres on redefining how user experience, cybersecurity and productivity come together at the browser layer.
Broadcom
During his time at Broadcom, Mr Cooper led the transformation of the channel’s Aggregation Program across Europe, using an innovative and disruptive approach to rebuild the traditional distribution model and create a more engaged and proactive entity. The project’s overall mission was to empower change in its resellers and partners to improve the customer experience and generate increased profits.
AI & Cybersecurity Trends
When it comes to the AI and cybersecurity trends of 2025 and beyond, there are several key things set to reshape these industries. For example, the Zero Trust model (in which it’s vital to always verify, never trust) is likely to become the foundation of all modern cybersecurity strategies, especially given the prevalence of distributed systems and hybrid workforces. Cyber resilience, too, is widely anticipated to become a priority for many organisations. The latter is not just about protecting against a cyberattack but also about surviving it should the worst happen, which means having strong recovery mechanisms and defences in place.
AI In Society
With AI playing an ever more important role across all aspects of society and daily life, knowing how to use it safely and responsibly is vital. Businesses and organisations could endorse this is by translating high-level principles into practical resources and guidance for employees, while developers could integrate ethical considerations into the design and development process.
Child Cybersecurity
There are many cybersecurity threats currently impacting children in the UK. These include AI-powered apps and chatbots providing inappropriate content, the risk of data privacy loss and online gaming platforms where children may find themselves receiving communications from strangers. To help keep children safe, it’s important for parents to actively monitor what their kids are doing online and stay up to date on new and emerging online threats. Age–appropriate, open communication about online dangers is vital.
